A lot of people have found that blogging is a great way to make extra money. Some bloggers sell their own products online and write blog articles to promote them. Other bloggers write blogs for others and get paid for it. A lot of blog writers do both - write for themselves and others.
When you're writing up to 100 or more blog posts per week, you're bound to burn out and get writer's block. But if you're going to make money blogging, you've got to stay productive.
Different assignments call for different angles. Sometimes you're asked to write a number of articles on a single subject. Since you'll have to spend an hour or so researching the subject, having a lot of articles to write is a bonus, because you only have to do the research once. If you have to write about various types of scrapbooking papers, you don't want to have to waste time doing research unless you're going to get a lot of income for your efforts!
At other times, you will be given only one article to write. If its about something technical, turn it down if you can. Your hourly rate will plummet if you're only writing 500 words about the inner workings of a digital sport watch. If all they want you to do is write about how beautiful the watch is, that's another matter.
Some writers prefer to have to do all that fact gathering because facts give them ideas. If they're given a vague assignment, they can't think of a thing to say. How, for example, can you write 500 words about a black helmet? White helmets are white, black ones are black. End of story. How can you turn that into 500 words?
If that describes you, try taking on a few non-technical articles for a change of pace. When you learn to de-activate your intellectual mind and activate your creative mind, you'll find that you have plenty to write about. Let your feelings and imagination take over. Beautiful Parisian models wear white helmets as they glide through the streets of Paris on their motor scooters. Evil biker gangs wear black. It doesn't matter what the statistics say. If you're writing about aesthetics, it's feelings that count.
If you're a creative writer by nature, all you need are a few facts in your blog articles. You can fill in the blanks with creative fluff. You're not expected to be writing an authoritative textbook, just a light and informative blog article. Keep blogging fun and you will find yourself writing faster and better naturally.
